Sound Barrier
Category Belonging
A facility inserted between a sound source and a receiver, designed to introduce significant additional attenuation to sound waves—thereby reducing noise levels in a specific area where the receiver is located—is known as a **sound barrier**.
Depending on their intended use, sound barriers can be categorized into types such as railway sound barriers, highway sound barriers, urban landscape sound barriers, and noise-reduction barriers for residential areas.
Based on their structural design, sound barriers are further divided into three main types: **vertical sound barriers**, **semi-enclosed sound barriers**, and **fully enclosed sound barriers**.
The sound barrier boasts a sleek and elegant design, with meticulous craftsmanship, making it easy to transport and install. It also features low costs and an exceptionally long service life, making it particularly well-suited for noise-reduction projects along elevated highways, urban light rail systems, and subway lines—truly an ideal acoustic and noise-control solution for modern cities.
Sound barriers typically range in height from 1 to 5 meters, providing an average noise reduction of 10–15 dB across the effective area (measured at 1/3-octave bands from 125 Hz to 4000 Hz)—with peak reductions reaching up to 20 dB. Generally speaking, the taller the sound barrier or the farther you are positioned from it, the more effective the noise reduction will be.
Since its establishment, our company has developed a wide range of sound barrier products, which are extensively used in domestic rail transit projects, elevated bridges, and highways.
