Shanghai Fengxian Converter Station Noise Reduction Project

The Shanghai Fengxian Converter Station of the State Grid is located within Fengxian District, Shanghai, situated in the southeastern part of the city—approximately 45 km in a straight line from downtown. Specifically, it’s nestled in Hengqiao Village, Shaocang Community, Situan Town, right at the border between Fengxian District and Nanhui District. The station features a total of 28 converter transformers: 24 operational BOX-IN units and 4 backup BOX-IN units. This station serves as a key component of the State Grid’s UHV demonstration project. Construction of the station’s noise-reduction project began in September 2009 and was completed by May 2010.
