Soundproof Door for the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Hall

Category Belonging

The Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Hall is located at 1380 Fuxing Middle Road, Shanghai. With a total floor area of 19,950 square meters, it features a 1,200-seat concert hall and a 400-seat chamber music venue.

The Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Hall was designed under the leadership of world-renowned masters Arata Isozaki and Yasuhiro Toyota, making it the first "fully floating building" in China—constructed atop springs. Leveraging cutting-edge multimedia technology, the hall features 10 reflective panels inside the main auditorium that can simultaneously project visuals, enabling live, two-way performances and real-time synchronization with venues around the globe. Additionally, the chamber music hall doubles as a state-of-the-art 3D recording studio, filling a critical gap in Shanghai, where there has previously been no dedicated, large-scale professional symphony orchestra recording facility. To mitigate noise and vibration disturbances from the nearby Metro Line 10, the hall is equipped with advanced vibration-isolation technology, which also makes it Shanghai’s very first fully suspended structure.
