The second-phase noise reduction project of the Huadian Beijing Thermal Power Plant is located in Gaobeidian, in the eastern suburbs of Beijing. With an installed capacity of 845,000 kilowatts, the plant supplies 10% of Beijing's electricity, 70% of its gas supply, and 30% of its district heating needs. As the nation’s largest combined heat and power enterprise in terms of heating capacity, the plant achieves an average annual thermal efficiency of over 60%, surpassing conventional coal-fired power plants by more than 20 percentage points. The noise reduction project was undertaken in April 2011 and completed in June 2012. The scope of work included soundproof doors, silencers, soundproof windows, and soundproof composite panels, among other components.
